With a strong partner even stronger

We are expanding our scope of action by means of an alliance with the international law firm LPA-CGR. As of the beginning of January 2019, we will be represented on the international market for commercial law firms as a new entity that in Germany will go under the name of LPA-GGV. This cooperation does not relate to GGV Paris office.

LPA-GGV will comprise more than 230 lawyers, accountants, tax advisers and notaries, located in 14 offices around the world, including in Paris, Brussels, Dubai, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Singapore and Algiers.

The cooperation aims to strengthen the positioning of both partners as a Franco-German law firm. Both LPA and GGV are convinced of the importance of economic relations between Germany and France and wish to become the leading law firm in this segment.

LPA and GGV are distinguished by their special expertise in Franco-German commercial business transactions, cross-border taxation, fund-based investments and M&A deals, which is based on the intercultural experience of their partners that goes back twenty years.

At the same time as the cooperation with GGV, LPA was able to expand its German Desk in Paris and gain two partners that have more than 20 years’ experience in Franco-German business. The German Desk in Paris thus comprises 10 lawyers.

LPA is a prestigious law firm in France and is among the top companies in all rankings. LPA’s origins go back to 1983, when two French law firms joined to form Lefèvre, Pelletier & Associés (LPA). In the years that followed, LPA gained, among other things, an impressive foothold in the Far East. In 2016, LPA merged with CGR legal, a law firm that had twelve successful years under its belt.

For the last 6 years, LPA has been represented in Germany by its Munich office. It has been able to build up considerable market relevance, particularly in the field of property transactions and renewable energies.

The alliance is now significantly expanding both partners’ scope of action and creating a centre of economic and tax law competence of considerable clout spanning half the globe.

GGV Grützmacher Gravert Viegener is a partnership that was founded by lawyers, accountants, tax consultants, notaries and avocats à la cour in 1974. We specialise in advising our clients on German-French trade, national and international taxation, property and corporate law, as well as international mergers and acquisitions.
