Munich, 7 September 2016 – LPA Munich has advised medi GmbH & Co. KG on the sale of its prosthetics business to Össur Deutschland. The transaction was structured as a share deal.

The target company is a global provider of mechanical lower limb prosthetic components, located in Bayreuth, Germany. In 2015, its total sales amounted to EUR 15 million.

medi is one of the leading manufacturers of medical aids with a product line comprising medical compression stockings, adjustable compression care, supports, orthoses, thrombosis prophylaxis stockings, compression garments and shoe insoles. Based in Bayreuth, Germany, the group has approx. 2,400 employees worldwide and distributes its products in 90 countries.

Iceland based Össur is a global leader in non-invasive orthopaedics focusing on improving people’s mobility through the delivery of innovative technologies within the fields of braces, supports and prosthetic limbs. Össur has major operations in the Americas, Europe and Asia, with additional distributors worldwide.
