Press Release on 20 May 2016
Stadtwerke Ingolstadt acquire their first own plant
Ingolstadt, 20 May 2016 – LPA Munich has advised Stadtwerke Ingolstadt (“SWI”) on the acquisition of a Bavarian wind farm. The five wind turbines are located near the Upper Franconian town of Kulmbach and are expected to be completed at the end of 2016. The parties agreed to keep the transaction volume confidential.
The wind farm has a performance of approx. 41 megawatts and should supply approx. 12,000 households with electricity. SWI aim to take an active part in the German energy revolution and to expand their third investment area besides photovoltaics and biomass. So far, SWI have only been partly involved in two wind farms in Rhineland-Palatinate. Hence, Hain-Ost is the first plant that is being operated solely by SWI.
Vendor of the wind farm is MVV Energie AG.
