Intellectual Property / Industrial Property Rights

In today’s digital world, intellectual and industrial property rights are key elements in successful entrepreneurial activity. In many cases, they even embody the core of the particular business model.

We advise our domestic and foreign clients in the areas of intellectual / industrial property rights, copyright law, labelling and trademark law, general competition law and publishing law. Our services include drafting licence agreements and filing trademark applications as well as supporting our clients in negotiations or in connection with cease-and-desist letters and disputes concerning the existence and scope of property rights.

We assist our clients in the design of advertisements and products, advertising campaigns and other sales promotion measures. We defend our clients if they have received cease-and-desist letters and also represent them in legal disputes with competitors and, if necessary, also with corporate bodies entitled to take legal action under competition law.

IT Law

Data processing technology, modern media and electronic communication all connect companies with their customers and open up new production and distribution channels.

We advise our clients in matters of e-commerce, in the design of web shops and the mandatory legal requirements including general terms and conditions and legal notices. We provide assistance with domain law and support our clients when negotiating IT-related work, maintenance and service contracts, specifications and licence agreements as well as the enforcement of the rights arising therefrom.

Data Protection

Processing personal data in compliance with legal requirements represents a huge challenge for all companies, irrespective of their size. The enactment of the General Data Protection Regulation, in particular, has sensitised customers, employees and supervisory authorities to the issue and they now pay very close attention to how companies handle personal data. Compliance with data protection regulations is one of the elementary risk avoidance strategies for companies – especially against the background of impending sanctions.

We support our domestic and foreign clients in implementing their business models in compliance with data protection regulations.
